Class of 2022 – 2023

The Provisional Class of 2023 chose to support Cherished Mom for their provisional project by hosting a care package drive. Cherished Mom is a local organization seeking to fill the educational void regarding perinatal mood and anxiety disorders of women during pregnancy and after birth. The rate of postpartum depression in Tennessee women is 15.3%, which is above the national average of 13.6%.

Cherished Mom currently provides at least 25 care packages to new mothers each month. These care packages include self care items as well as information and resources related to postpartum depression, anxiety and psychosis. The provisional class collected and raised funds for self-care items used in these packages through an item drive.

Thanks to the help of the community and Buff City Soap, the 2022-2023 Provisional member class successfully put together 100 bags for Cherished Moms to distribute to mothers. For more information on Cherished Moms and their mission, visit their website.
